Community Update: May 2023

With summer right around the corner, the Overbrook Community Association is pleased to announce a number of upcoming exciting community events, including:

  • The OCA’s upcoming public meeting (come join the fun!);

  • A community cleaning event to help keep Overbrook sparking;

  • A Ward 12 and 13 community dialogue on climate resiliency (hosted by Community Collective/CAFES); and

  • A townhall with Councillor King regarding upcoming development projects.

May 25th - OCA Community Meeting

The Overbrook Community Association invites you to our next virtual public meeting on Thursday, May 25th, at 7pm.

Come share what's on your mind and hear from community leaders. 

Guests will include:

  • Ottawa City Councillor Ralwson King;

  • Bruno Crites from the Overbrook Community Centre; and

  • Overbrook resident Deborah Doherty from Safe Wings Ottawa.

May 27th - Overbrook Clean-up Day

Do you love enjoying Overbrook’s natural landscapes? Then come join the OCA’s community spring cleaning event on May 27, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Location: Meet at the Rideau Sports Club at 1 Donald Street

The team will focus on cleaning up the west Donald Street boulevards and the Rideau River shoreline.

May 30th - Community Collective Climate Resiliency Dialogue (Wards 12 & 13)

Are you interested in learning more about how climate change will affect Ottawa, and in discussing community preparedness for these impacts with other residents?

Join Community Associations from the Community Collective (Lindenlea, Manor Park, New Edinburgh, Overbrook, Rockcliffe Park, Vanier) and CAFES for an in-person Community Dialogue on Climate Resiliency.

Date & Time: May 30th — 6:30pm-8:30pm

Location: Richelieu-Vanier Community Centre 300 Pères-Blancs Avenue Ottawa, ON K1L 7L5

June 15th - Development Townhall for Overbrook and Eastway Gardens residents

Live or work in Overbrook or Alta Vista Ward's Eastway Gardens community?

You are invited to a virtual townhall co-hosted by Rideau-Rockcliffe Councillor Rawlson King and Alta Vista Councillor Marty Carr on June 15 at 6:30 pm to learn about upcoming development projects in your neighbourhood.
